Wisniewski Elected NJ State Democratic Chair

Assemblyman John Wisniewski

JAMESBURG – Last night, the members of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee elected Assemblyman John S. Wisniewski as chairman at their reorganization meeting at Forsgate Country Club in Jamesburg.

Wisniewski, who was elected to serve a two-year term, said, “I am excited to take on the responsibility of reinvigorating our party. We are all disappointed in the outcome of the election last November and know that we cannot allow a repeat in 2010.”

“New Jersey working families are counting on us to fight for what is important – making our state an affordable place to live, creating jobs and restoring prosperity,” Wisniewski said.

Jay Webber, chairman of the New Jersey Republican State Committee, said, “I congratulate Assemblyman Wisniewski and wish him well in his new position.  I hope that the new Chairman will join his fellow Democratic leaders in partnering with Governor Christie to make New Jersey affordable for our families again.”
