Morano Appointed To College Labor Relations Position

EDISON—Joseph R. Morano, J.D. has been appointed special assistant to the president for labor relations and legal affairs at Middlesex County College.

He is responsible for guiding union/management relationships, contract administration and related personnel, affirmative action and compliance issues.


Morano joins Middlesex with an exceptional record in personnel management, public sector employment/labor law, civil rights law, special education and administrative law. He has an accomplished 20-year career in education and government employment law; most recently, he served as general counsel with Hoboken Public Schools.

Previously, while in private practice, he represented boards of education, public school districts, law enforcement and other public entities in legal and personnel matters.

A frequent presenter, trainer, and guest lecturer, Morano has served the Administrative Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association as current and past chairman, from 1999-present. He earned his B.A. in Political Science at Syracuse University and his J.D. at Brooklyn Law School.
