CARTERET—Girl Scouts of Central and Southern NJ Inc. has partnered with Mayor Daniel J. Reiman and the Carteret Business Partnership to offer “It’s Your Planet—Love It!” to girls in Kindergarten through third grade.

Beginning on March 2, this eight-week program will allow the girls to explore what it means to Go Green, care for the planet, and help their community through fun, hands-on activities and games.

The “It’s Your Planet – Love It!” journey series offers girls an opportunity to learn about grade-appropriate environmental issues such as clean water and air, global warming, soil contamination, and agricultural processes. The girls will be exposed to ideas and discussions on the environment every day and every where.

Girl Scouts journey programs are packed with the latest research and girl-relevant environmental thinking and offer adults a way to interact with girls on topics of great importance in their lives. The program will be held Tuesdays, March 2 to April 20 at the Deverin Community Center, 100 Cooke Avenue from 3:45-5 p.m.  Pre-registration is required.  The program fee of $25 includes annual membership registration to GSUSA, program books, and all supplies.
