ELIZABETH – Authorities are investigating Elizabeth’s second homicide of 2010, which occurred Monday afternoon outside a Parker Road apartment building.
Police were called to an apartment building at 230 Parker Road at about 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 25, according to the Union County Prosecutor’s office.
They found Taiquawn Boney, who was suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to University Hospital in Newark, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. An autopsy was being conducted Tuesday.
Members of the Union County Homicide Task Force were canvassing the area and conducting a thorough investigation, but authorities had not identified any suspects or a motive in Boney’s death as of this morning.
Seventeen-year-old Zorymar Rosado was the city’s first homicide victim of the year. She was killed in a South Spring Street apartment last week. The Union County Homicide Task Force arrested a suspect, 18-year-old Fahteem L Tucker, less than 24 hours after the shooting.
