LINDEN – Though the calendar says that it’s still winter, it’s not too early to start thinking about summer plans. Linden’s popular day camp program is already accepting registrations.
Parents have until May 28 to register their children for the day camp program, which will operate from June 28 through Aug. 19. The $200 per child fee can be paid all at once or in monthly $50 installments.
There are two ways to register: online, using the CommunityPass feature of Linden’s website, www.linden-nj.org, or in person at one of three locations. The community center, 605 So. Wood Avenue, is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; while the Gregorio Center, 330 Helen Street, and the Multi-Purpose Center, 1025 John Street, are open from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Parents may only register their own children and must bring two proofs of residency as well as their child’s birth certificate. Parents will be required to attend an orientation session before camp begins, or they will forfeit their child’s place.
Campers entering the first, second or third grades this fall can attend camp at Al Kalla Park, McGillvray Park or Veteran’s Memorial Park. Campers entering the fourth and fifth grades will attend camp at Veteran’s Memorial Park on Tremley Point Road; while sixth graders will attend “Sports Camp” at McManus Middle School at Edgewood Road and DeWitt Terrace. Kiddie campers entering kindergarten this fall will attend camp at School #4, Peach Orchard Park.
