EDISON – A gas leak led to an explosion that destroyed a lawyer’s office on Route 27 on Monday morning.
Utility crews were evacuating the area when the explosion occurred shortly after 4:30 a.m. According to police, a motorist alerted authorities to a crack in the roadway and the presence of a strong gas odor.
The office, a converted home, was completely destroyed and two adjacent homes were damaged. According to authorities, no injuries were reported.
