Elks Plan Murder Mystery Dinner

RAHWAY—The Rahway Elks Lodge #1075 is sponsoring a murder mystery dinner theater event on Saturday, March 6. This event will take place at the Lodge Hall, which is located at 122 West Milton Avenue in Rahway.

The plot has been set: “Murder in Paradise” transforms those in attendance into cruise ship passengers, anchored off the little island of “Nogo Pogo”. But all is not well in paradise, as the island music is interrupted by murder! It will be up to the clever passengers to help solve the murder and make it back to the ship.

The proceeds of this event will be used to support the lodge’s Special Children’s Committee. This committee, which was previously known as the Handicapped Children’s Committee, sponsors activities for youth with special needs in the Rahway community. A “Friendship Day” at Turtle Back Zoo, a fishing derby at Echo Lake Park and a poster contest are just a few of the ways the funds raised will be utilized.

Funds are also used to support Elks Camp Moore in Haskell. Tucked away in the hills of the Ramapo Mountains, Elks Camp Moore offers a fun filled vacation away from home for children with special needs. The primary goal of the camp is to further develop the recreational and social skills of each special child. Each camper experiences new adventures in a relaxed and accepting atmosphere, forms lasting friendships, and has opportunities that promote independence and greater self-confidence.

Each camper is sponsored by the local lodge in their community at no expense to their family. For more information about Elks Camp Moore you can visit www.njelks.org and click on the link to the camp. If you would like to learn more about the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks you can visit the organization’s website, www.elks.org.

The ticket price is $45 per person, which includes dinner and the show. Tickets are on sale now at the Rahway Elks Lodge Grill Room. Contact the Lodge at 1-732-388-1075 for tickets or information.
