RAHWAY—The city will celebrate Black History Month with the opening reception on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m., at EDGE Galleries, 1571 Milton Avenue across from the Rahway YMCA.
The opening reception will start at 7 p.m., followed by “The Meeting” presented by the Dunbar Repertory Company, “The Meeting” is an award-winning one-act play that depicts a fictitious encounter between Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X on Valentine’s Day in 1965.
Written by acclaimed playwright and screenwriter Jeff Stetson in 1987, “The Meeting” has received the Louis B. Mayer Award, 8 NAACP Theater Awards as well as an Emmy for its PBS American Playhouse adaptation. “The Meeting” is presented with special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York. The event is free to the public.
