MONROE—Monroe Republicans Keith B. Hackett and Harold V. Kane have announced their candidacies for the offices of Middlesex County Sheriff and Middlesex County Clerk, respectively, according to Monroe Township Republican Organization Chairman Tom Nothstein.
Hackett retired from the NJ State police in 2008 after more than 26 years of distinguished service. He is married to his wife Lynn and they have two sons, Keith and Brian. Hackett has been a resident of Monroe for 23 years. He is a graduate of Middlesex County College, Rutgers University, Seton Hall University and the FBI National Academy.
Nothstein said that Hackett would bring “years of law enforcement to a position that has not been held by someone in law enforcement in 30 years.”
Kane is a telecommunications specialist at Rutgers University. He was, with his wife Roslyn, a business owner and is a veteran of eight years in the United States Navy. He has two grown sons, Michael and Kyle. Harold and Roslyn reside in the Rossmoor adult community. Kane was born and raised in New Brunswick and is a graduate of Rutgers University.
Nothstein said that he “is looking forward to working with Harold and Keith as they launch their campaign for two such crucial positions within county government.”
