WOODBRIDGE– Judy Krall-Russo, historian, educator, speaker, and restaurant consultant, will talk about Valentine’s Day traditions at the Barron Arts Center on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m.
Admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend. Because Seating is limited, advance reservations are required. Call the center at 1-732-634-0413. Refreshments will be served during the presentation.
“Valentine’s Day Traditions: Flowers, Fans & Chocolate with a Touch of Champagne,” will teach about the history, traditions – and some fun facts – behind the holiday. Learn about Victorian-era “fan flirting,” and how chocolate and champagne had become associated with Valentine’s Day.
Other topics will include the language of flowers and their meanings, as well as “Candlemas Day,” the original Valentine’s Day. Sample delicious various treats associated with the holiday, including chocolate, brownies, chocolate tea and champagne.
The Barron Arts Center is located at 582 Rahway Avenue in Woodbridge.
