Bank Raises Money To Fight Hunger

JERSEY CITY – The Provident Bank will kick-off a fundraising drive at each of its 80 plus branches to benefit the Community Food Bank of New Jersey (CFBNJ). The Deposit $1 of Hope fundraiser begins Monday, Jan. 11 and will run through Tuesday, Feb. 23.

“One in five New Jersey families struggle with hunger. Even more shocking is that almost 600,000 New Jersey children live in a food-insecure household,” said Jean Quinn, vice president of corporate communications at The Provident Bank. “In these difficult economic times, The Community Food Bank needs our assistance more than ever to help unemployed workers, working poor families and seniors on limited incomes who are forced to choose between paying for food and paying their rent.”

Every dollar contributed to the CFBNJ allows the organization to distribute $8 to $11 worth of food and groceries to local food pantries and soup kitchens. For those wishing to make a donation towards CFBNJ, stop by any Provident branch.
