Cub Scouts Donate Food To Local Food Pantry

CLARK – Cub Scouts from Clark Cub Scout Pack 145 recently donated over 900 pounds of food to the local food pantry.

Scouts collected bags of non-perishable food items from their family and friends and brought them to their pack meeting where the food was organized and weighed. The food was then packed into volunteers’ cars and driven directly to the food pantry at the Osceola Presbyterian Church in Clark.

The Food Pantry at Osceola uses these food donations to make baskets (or boxes) that go to people in need.  They make baskets up for three holidays – Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. They also have an emergency supply for someone who needs a basket of food at another time of the year.

Given today’s economy, food donations to the pantry have dwindled and they rely on the support the Cub Scout family to continue to help those in need.

The Clark Cub Scouts thank everyone who donated food to this year’s food drive.
