ROSELLE – The Roselle Urban Enterprise Zone announced last week that Food King is the Roselle UEZ 2009 Business of the Year.
Food King won the award for its dedication to customers, Roselle residents and the Roselle business community, UEZ officials said. Store managers and employees engaged in local charitable work throughout the year. The store was also a major contributor to the success of the Roselle Jams UEZ Summer Concert Series.
Formerly known as Foodtown, the grocery store changed its name in the spring of 2009. The store is one of 21 businesses in Roselle that have been members of the Roselle UEZ since it was established in 2002.
“Food King is one of our larger businesses in town and does a tremendous amount of good for the Roselle community,” Roselle UEZ Coordinator Harry Wyatt said.
Food King was one of many Roselle businesses to receive awards at the UEZ’s annual awards ceremony, held at the Cavalier Regency. The full list of award winners includes:
• Business of the Year – Food King
• New Business of the Year – Skybox Sports Bar and Lounge
• Community Service Award – Roselle Savings Bank
• Excellence in Innovation – Cavalier Regency
• Commitment to Excellence and Quality – Roselle Health Plus
