Dec. 7 at 2:01 p.m. – At the Middlesex County Jail, Officer Ken Sarnecki arrested Rahway resident Gerard Early, 44, on an outstanding warrant for contempt of court/motor vehicle violations.  He was subsequently transported to the Union County Jail.

Dec. 10 at 6:02 p.m. – At 76 Central Avenue, Officers Christopher Tuccio and Eric Richter arrested Brooklyn, N.Y. residents Jerry Baines, 31, and Somolia Howard, 21,for shoplifting merchandise from the Shop-Rite Supermarket. Both individuals were subsequently released pending court dates.

Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. – Officer Keith Meehan investigated a report of a theft of items from a locker at Bally’s Total Fitness at 140 Central Avenue.

Dec. 11 at 12:18 p.m. – In the vicinity of 865 Raritan Road, police arrested Scotch Plains resident Lawrence Dent, 19, for possession of CDS.  He was also issued summonses for motor vehicle violations and subsequently released pending a court date.

Dec. 13 at 7:55 a.m. – Officer John Ehling investigated a report of criminal mischief to a motor vehicle that was parked at a Madison Hill Road residence.
