EDISON – Middlesex County’s popular Roosevelt Park Family Ice Skating Rink opened for its seventh season on Wednesday, Nov. 25, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The rink tallied outstanding attendance in its opening weekend, attracting more than 400 skaters that Saturday.
“The Family Ice Rink has become one of our most popular venues, welcoming more than 18,000 skaters last season alone,” said Middlesex County Freeholder Director Stephen J. “Pete” Dalina. “We believe this is the perfect place to spend quality family time, and with terrific single-day numbers this opening weekend, it looks like our residents agree.”
The rink is located at the Level Playing Fields Complex inside the county’s Roosevelt Park, which is adjacent to Menlo Park Mall in Edison.
Hours of operation are: Wednesdays to Fridays from 5 to 9 p.m.; Saturdays and holidays from noon to 4 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m.; Sundays from noon to 3 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. The rink is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and Christmas Day.
Per session admission is $5 for adults and $4 for senior citizens and children 17 and under. Discounts are available for multi-session passes and groups.
Accredited group and private lessons are available. The rink is available for birthday parties and private events. For more information or to book an event, call 1-732-494-3785 or visit www.co.middlesex.nj.us.
