County Cuts Shared Services Director
MIDDLESEX COUNTY β Middlesex County freeholders will not name a new director of shared services. The position has been vacant since the previous director left last September.
The post was created in 2007 and was initially funded by a three-year state grant of about $300,000. While there is about $82,000 left from the grant money, it is uncertain if the grant would be renewed.

Officials say the move is being made to reduce staff and cut costs, and that other administrators would continue efforts towards interlocal service agreements.
Not everyone approved of the move.
βThe county will make a huge mistake that will hurt the communities at time they need our help the most,β Freeholder H. James Polos said.
