RAHWAY—Popular singer and songwriter Ken Galipeau will return to Z Café on Saturday, Nov. 21. in the Social Hall of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rahway.
Z Café is a monthly concert series, held on the third Saturday of each month in the social hall of Zion Church, located at the corner of Elm and Esterbrook Avenues in Rahway. The show begins at 7 p.m. with open mic performances. At about 8:30 p.m., the featured performer takes the stage and performs for about an hour.
Galipeau, a storyteller for over 13 years, is a collector of stories, songs and poems that touch hearts and funny bones. He has performed in schools, libraries, church, storytelling festivals, and parties. He has presented a storytelling program at the NJ Storytelling Festival for the last 11 years.
Galipeau is also a favorite festival, coffeehouse and concert performer. He performs for people of all ages and accompanies himself on guitar, drum, and piano and sings a cappella. His storytelling programs include stories and songs interwoven into a program that includes participation in the form of singing as well as joining in on story refrains. Often times the songs are story songs or ballads, sometimes they are just for fun or add an amen to a just completed story.
