Jersey Cares Coat Drive Heats Up As Temperatures Drop

Thursday, November 19, 2009

UNION COUNTY—Last year, the Jersey Cares Coat Drive supplied more than 38,000 gently-used winter coats to children, women and men who desperately needed them.

This year, Jersey Cares will work with more than 300 corporations and organizations to collect coats throughout the state, aiming to collect and distribute 40,000 coats to more than 200 nonprofit agencies serving our neighbors in need.

Area residents may make donations at the following sites until Dec. 15:

• Power Fitness Health Club, 280 St. Georges Avenue, Rahway – weekdays from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

• Soehl Middle School, 300 East Henry Street, Linden – every day from 7:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

• Thomas H. Cox & Son t/a Cox Printers, 634 E. Elizabeth Avenue, Linden – every day from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
