Rahway Students Celebrate A Season for Giving
RAHWAY — “A Season for Giving” is the theme that rings throughout the hallways at Madison Elementary School in Rahway.
To start the “Season of Giving” Madison held a winter coat and clothes drive in October, which was extremely successful. The clothes and coats were given to a homeless shelter in Union County.

This month, the school held a “Wear your PJs to School Day.” If students brought in an item for the holiday food drive they were able to wear their pajamas to school for the day. Madison School works with Rahway High School’s “Blue Tri Club” collecting food for a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner. The food baskets are distributed to families in need from the community.
On Dec. 1, Madison will begin their “Toys for Tots” collection. For that community service Madison works with the ROTC from Rahway High School.

Collecting the food are fourth graders Brianna Thor and Makenzie Martin.
