Puerto Rico Discovery Day

PERTH AMBOY—The Puerto Rican Association for Human Development, Inc. invites local residents to celebrate Puerto Rico Discovery Day on Sunday, Nov. 15.

The program includes a mass at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church. The Puerto Rican Flag raising ceremony will follow with a special recognition to outstanding community members at the Perth Amboy City Hall Circle at 2:30 p.m. Among these recognized will be Dr. Lydia David, Melissa Aponte and Lizzie Ann Velez.

At 3:30 p.m., a colorful cultural activity will take place at the association, located at 100 First Street, Perth Amboy. The free event will be highlighted by the music of folkloric groups such as: Segunda Quimbamba Bomba and Plena, Jose Gerena and his Trio, in addition to the Troadores, entertainment for the whole family, ethnic food and refreshments.
