WESTFIELD—The planning committee for Westfield Community player’s 75th Anniversary celebration soiree is busy at work for the Saturday, Nov. 21, event from 8 to 11 p.m. in the theater at 1000 North Avenue West, Westfield.
Chairwoman Gail Smith has released the details of the event and noted that all proceeds will go towards the WCP building fund, to keep things in good shape for the next 75 years.
Tickets are $40 per person or $75 per couple and are available by calling 1-908-233-1393. Along with the evening featuring cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and live entertainment, each ticket will be entered into a raffle drawing for a restaurant gift basket. President Joanne Lemenile added that WCP is looking forward to seeing current and former members help celebrate their 75th anniversary by dressing up in costume or fancy dress to party in theatrical style.
Former president and long time membership chairwoman, Letty Hudak noted that the anniversary celebration offers Westfield Community Players a chance to stage a different kind of event and allows members and friends of WCP to see some of the improvements already made.
Hudak added that increasing the building fund allows other projects such as new stairs for the lighting booth, new outdoor signage and other behind the scenes efforts to be made in the coming months. Treasurer Bill McMeekan noted that donations can be made directly to the building fund at any time, by mailing a check marked building fund to the theater at the 1000 North Avenue address.
