UNION — Celebrate this holiday season at historic Liberty Hall Museum during its month-long holiday extravaganza. Beginning Thanksgiving weekend, the Liberty Hall mansion will be decked with holiday cheer featuring the decorative styles of bygone eras. Visit the museum and enjoy several family-fun activities for all ages throughout December.
Candy canes, gumdrops and more…children will get into the holiday spirit when they decorate their very own gingerbread house at the annual “Gingerbread House Workshop” on Saturdays, Dec. 5 and 12, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from noon to 1:30 p.m. Space fills up quickly at this popular event, so make your reservations early. Cost is $17 per child and includes all workshop material. Reservations are required and children must be accompanied by an adult.
Come one, come all to Liberty Hall’s “Christmas Tree Ornament Workshop” on Sunday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to noon. Children are invited to decorate the Christmas tree in the Great Hall, the centerpiece of the museum’s lavish holiday decorations. Each child will create four Victorian style-Christmas ornaments, two to bring home and two for the Liberty Hall Christmas tree. Cost is $8 per child and includes all workshop material. Reservations are required and children must be accompanied by an adult.
Naughty or nice – all are welcome when Liberty Hall hosts a very special “Breakfast with Santa” on Sunday, Dec. 6, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A hot breakfast will fill you with Christmas cheer and put you in the holiday spirit. Don’t forget to take a photo in Santa’s sleigh with the jolly ole’ man himself! The cost is $20 per child, $25 per adult, and includes breakfast, picture with Santa and a tour of the museum decorated for the holidays.
Roastbeast on a Bun, Suess Spuds, and Cindy Lou Who Cider and are just some of the Grinchy grub being served at Liberty Hall’s “Whoville Feast” on Sunday, Dec. 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $20 per child, $25 per adult, and includes breakfast, a picture with our “special guest” and a tour of the museum.
Holiday Afternoon Tea is served every Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the holiday season. Set in the glass-enclosed porch, guests enjoy a selection of sandwiches, pastries, scones and clotted cream, jams and choice of two holiday teas. Cost is $33 per person and includes a house tour. Reservations are required.
Liberty Hall Museum will collect items for Toys for Tots during the month of December. Bring an unwrapped gift for children ages 0-17 with you to the museum on the day of the event or anytime in December.
