SOUTH AMBOY-On Aug. 3, 1946, Gold Star Mothers were invited to sit on the reviewing stand during the Veterans Parade. They were the guests of the “Welcome Home Committee.”

PERTH AMBOY-This is from material given to me by former Perth Amboy resident Jay Goldstein: Members of the Perth Amboy High School Class of 1945 who served their country at this time were: Navy-Charles Anderson, Gabor Bihary, Alvin Decker, Victor Diamond, Irving Goldmintz, Robert J. Hansen, William Hutka, Michael Lucov, Stanley Maciorowski, Louis Madrazo, Harry Newman, Arthur Nicklesen, George Omelanski, Michael Peles, Francis Pezda, Frank Pocsi, Thomas Soporowski, Andrew Stankowitz, Raymond Surma, Russell Thorne, Paul Tirpak and Gus Theophilakos.

Merchant Marines: Frank Barna, William Drost, Lee Emery and Charles Hilker. Army: Bernard Bednarz, Julius Bodnar, Gregory Guilias, Peter Manatakos, Raymond Soporowski and Ralph Stewart. Coast Guard: Matthew Siecinski and Robert Steskovitz. Marines: John Toth.
