Clark School Takes 1st Place In Scholastic Olympics

CLARK—Out of 15 competing area grammar schools, St. John the Apostle’s eighth graders took home first place in the 38th annual Scholastic Olympics hosted by Roselle Catholic High School on Oct. 28.  Out of a field of over 214 competitors, St. John’s students earned individual awards in eight of the nine subject events.

Earning first place awards were Erin Alexander (English), Emily Bledsoe (Religion), Sean Carolan (Art), Anne Fagan (Art), Alyssa Kania (Math), Caroline Lachanski (Science), and Trina Salvador (Current Events).
Earning third place awards were Shannen Gora (History), Thomas Hartnett (Current Events), John Ryan Kowalski (Science), and Allison Yashay (Forensics).


Also competing, based on their notable scholastic records, were Jennifer Cafiero, Brooke Enners, Lauren Lamprecht, Brendan Llyod, Robert Mega, and Daniel Sheldon.

Sister Donna Marie O’Brien, the school’s principal, said she is proud of all of the students competing and their wonderful accomplishments.
