Police Investigate Linden Home Burglaries

LINDEN – Police are investigating burglaries at two DeWitt Street homes.
On Oct. 27, at 10:38 a.m., police responded to a burglar alarm at a residence on the 900 block of DeWitt Street. The officers noticed an open rear window when they arrived. The homeowners were notified and officers checked the house.

A man’s sweater that did not belong to the residents was found near the open window in the kitchen, but it did not appear as if anyone entered the home, police said.

On Oct. 28, a resident of the 600 block of DeWitt Street reported that his home had been ransacked sometime between 10:30 a.m. – 3:05 p.m. while he was at school. Police said that it appeared as if someone used a patio chair to open a rear window to the house and climb inside. Several electronic items were reported missing, police said.
