Clark Plans H1N1 Vaccine Clinic

CLARK—The Clark Health Department has received a limited amount of H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine. The vaccine contains the mercury based preservative thimerisol.

Pre-registration of the vaccine is required and will begin on Monday, Nov. 9. Pre-registration will close on Friday, Nov. 13, or when all slots are filled, whichever comes first.

The following priority groups are eligible to receive the vaccine:

  1. Pregnant women
  2. Household contacts and caregivers of children less than 6 months of age.
  3. Health care and emergency medical personnel
  4. Persons age 6 months to 24 years of age
  5. Persons 25-64 years of age with underlying medical conditions.

The first H1N1 clinic will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Clark Recreation gymnasium located at 430 Westfield Avenue.
