KENILWORTH—The Joseph Nugent Sr. Association of Union County will hold its 76th annual dance on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 8 p.m. until midnight at the Kenilworth Veterans Center located at 33 South 21st Street in Kenithworth.
The Irish-American organization will honor Danny McDonough as Irishman of the Year and Kathy Noonan Rotando as Irish Woman of the Year.
This year’s recipients of the Greta Sheridan Memorial Community Service Award are Liz and Jeff Welsh.
Retired Elizabeth Police Lt. Harry Leonard will receive the Jack O’Connor Award.
The Nugent’s Bravest Award will be presented to Father George Gillen, Chaplain of the Roselle Fire Department and Pastor of St Genevieve’s Church in Elizabeth.
There will also be special recognition of the St. Columcille Pipe Band as they celebrate their 60th Anniversary.
The Willie Lynch Show Band will provide entertainment. Admission is $25 and includes beer, wine, coffee, cake and tea. There will also be a cash bar.
