MONROE– PSEG recently awarded the Monroe Township Youth Soccer league a $300 grant in support of the volunteer efforts of one of its employees. The energy company gave the grant to the Monroe Township nonprofit on behalf of Wendy Dix, a clerk with PSE&G who assists with the team’s fundraising efforts. The money was used for team apparel.
“The company’s grant program is awesome because it contributes funds to volunteer organizations that help the children of our community stay active and have fun, while learning the skills of a sport,” said Dix.
Since 1974 the Monroe Township Youth Soccer league has been promoting and advancing the general needs and welfare of the youth of Monroe Township. They also have a program called “Soccer Buddies” for special needs children.
PSEG gave the grant through a program called Support for Sports, which allows the company to recognize contributions its employees make to community youth sports programs. PSEG has a long tradition of caring for New Jersey’s people and communities. Each year, the company and its employees invest millions of dollars and thousands of hours to improve the quality of life in New Jersey. The company’s culture dictates that service to customers and community go hand-in-hand.
