RAHWAY—Madison Elementary School in Rahway launched their annual book drive on Oct. 13 with a visit from Superintendent Frank Buglione and media specialist, Debbie Geiss.

Since this year’s theme is “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea,” Buglione would like students to read enough books to take him to the bottom of the ocean.  With his diving gear on, Buglione began his simulated journey down to the depths of the ocean.

Students know that their teachers will keep track of every book read and a running count will be recorded each month. The third, fourth and fifth graders were asked to do some research about what kinds of things the superintendent will see as he journeys to the bottom of the ocean.
