Soccer Team Scores Big Points for Breast Cancer Awareness

EDISON—The Girls’ Varsity Soccer Team at The Wardlaw-Hartridge School learned to “think pink” and score some big points for breast cancer awareness and Lee National Denim Day ( during their victorious game against Ranney, 5-0, on Friday, Oct. 2.

Before the big game, members of the Wardlaw-Hartridge Lower School and Middle School faculty pitched in $5 each to wear denim jeans and dress casually to recognize October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. But, during the game, teammates dressed in special jerseys with pink ribbons and used a ribbon-adorned soccer ball for the game. They also organized a bake sale for the initiative. The team raised a total of $231. Photo by Tanda Tucker
