This year marks the club’s 60th anniversary.  The Model Railroad Club, Inc. was founded in 1949 in the basement of the late Paul Mallery, a pioneer of the hobby of model railroading, as the Summit-New Providence HO Model Railroad Club.  The club occupies a building on Union County park land designed, built and maintained entirely by the members, under a unique arrangement with the Union County Park System.  Free parking is available on site and the building is wheelchair accessible.
