Gas Leak Diverts Traffic

LINDEN – Employees of Anco Environmental Services Co. accidentally ruptured a gas line while they worked to remove an abandoned tank from the ground at 19 East Elizabeth Avenue Monday morning, authorities said.

Traffic was diverted away from the site for approximately 90 minutes, but no injuries were reported.

The Elizabethtown Gas Co., Linden Police Department, Linden Fire Department and Linden Office of Emergency Management all responded to the scene.
