EDISON—In an effort to keep the public informed about the seasonal flu and the novel H1N1 flu, also known as the swine flu, Edison Township has launched two web sites with educational content, preventative tips and vaccination information.
The two sites can be found by logging onto www.EdisonNJ.org/flu or www.EdisonNJ.org/swineflu. From there people will be able access local web videos and tips sheets as well as state and federal swine flu internet pages.
“These web sites will allow us to quickly and continually provide important information to the public on this public health issue,” said Mayor Jun Choi.
The township plans to offer swine flu vaccination clinics to Edison residents; when those dates and places are set the information will be posted to the swine flu web site.
“Our hope is that people will use these web sites as a great resource for general and localized information about the seasonal and swine flu,” said Edison Health Officer John Grun.
Beyond basic information about the season flu and swine flu, those browsing the web sites will find frequently asked questions web pages for each flu strain.
Residents can also receive updated flu information by following the township’s Twitter page – twitter.com/EdisonNJ.
