RAHWAY—Rahway AARP Section #607 held its first fall meeting on Thursday, Sept. 10, at its regular place of meeting, the Senior Center, 1306 Esterbrook Avenue in Rahway.
President Delores Franklin received congratulations for being honored by the Rahway Branch of the NAACP at their Freedom Fund Banquet for her work in the community. Franklin is one of several persons who will be recognized at the Westwood on North Avenue in Garwood on Friday evening, Nov. 6.
Members also expressed hope that more daily trips will be planned, as well as other interesting activities.
The Rahway section AARP meets the second Thursday of each month at the Senior Center at 12:30 p.m. All persons over the age of 55 are welcome to come and join this vibrant section.
This month’s meeting is planned for Oct. 8.
