KENILWORTH—The Union County Emerald Society is celebrating its 28th anniversary with its annual pub night at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Kenilworth Veterans Center located at 33 South 21st Street in Kenilworth.
The fraternal organization of law enforcement officers and firefighters of Irish decent will honor William Laverty as Irishman of the Year and Bella Nugent Laughlin as Irishwoman of the Year.
Irish entertainment will be provided by the Bobby Byrne Show with Charlie Warwick. Tickets include beer, wine, soda and snacks and cost $25.
The Union County Emerald Society has deep roots in the communities of Union County and strives to celebrate Irish heritage and culture while also supporting important causes including Project Children, the Union County Baseball League and Hurricane Katrina relief.
