College Foundation Gala To Celebrate An “Evening In Paris”

CRANFORD – The annual Union County College Foundation Gala celebrating an “Evening in Paris” is set for Saturday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m.

For this year’s gala, the foundation’s largest fund raising event, the sponsor is Investors Savings Bank. The event will feature a cocktail reception in the Victor M. Richel Student Commons on the College’s Cranford Campus, located at 1033 Springfield Avenue, followed by a live auction hosted by guest auctioneer Nicolas M. Dawes.

The evening will continue with a gourmet dinner, music and dancing, and a “Casino Night” where professional dealers will challenge guests to wager at poker, blackjack, craps, roulette and the Big Wheel for a wide range of valuable prizes.

UCC is the oldest community college in New Jersey, serving 38,000 full and part-time credit ad non-credit students on four campus locations.  UCC offers more than 75 programs of study, allowing students of all ages to upgrade their position in the work force by acquiring new and necessary skills.  86% of matriculated students remain in Union County to work in the fields in which they were trained contributing to the overall economic health of the region.

A broad gala donor base from both corporations and individuals is key to achieving a financial success. Opportunities to participate as a donor include reservations and sponsorships to attend this black-tie preferred event, advertising in the Ad Journal, or donations of raffle prizes. Individual ticket cost is $150. Attendees are encouraged to consider reserving tables for 10, which is being offered for $1350.

In addition, 50/50 Gala Cash Raffle tickets are currently being sold.  Only 300 tickets will be offered at $100 each, awarding up to $15,000 in cash prizes if all tickets are sold. Attendance at the event is not required to be a cash raffle winner.

All funds raised from this event will benefit the foundation’s endowment which provides scholarships and innovative programs to deserving UCC students. These scholarships will allow the students to continue their dreams of a higher education and job specific training so critical in today’s workforce. Each roll of the dice, turn of a card or purchase of a raffle ticket is a sure win for UCC students.
