Elizabeth School Holds “Welcome Back Cookout”

ELIZABETH—The Benedictine Academy Parents Association held a “Welcome Back Cookout” at the school in Elizabeth on Saturday, Sept. 26. New and returning school families and friends attended and enjoyed a great afternoon, complemented by plenty of burgers, hot dogs, corn, plus homemade salads, desserts, and other favorite family recipes prepared for the event. Students at the Academy supervised entertainment for children who attended which included games and face painting.

A few hours at the grill on a beautiful fall day passed quickly for Jose Amorim of Newark (left) and John Onacki of Roselle. Both fathers cooked many burgers and hot dogs for the large crowd that attended the Benedictine Academy Parents Association “Welcome Back Cookout” on September 26.

A $500 tuition raffle was held at the Benedictine Academy “Welcome Back Cookout” on September 26. The winner was Cheryl Negron of Union (far left). Standing with her are, (l-r): Helen Achariam of Elizabeth; Academy President Sister Germaine Fritz, OSB; and Art Abbondante of Union, Chair of the BA Parents Association. Achariam originally won the raffle on the first round of drawing, however, she donated the winnings back since her daughter Melanie has a full scholarship to attend the Academy.
