PLAINFIELD—The Union County Homicide Task Force is in the early stages of an investigation of a 27-year-old man who was shot and killed Sunday night, said Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.
Just after 9:30 p.m., Plainfield police responded to the intersection of East Third Street and Richmond Street on a report of an injured man. Upon arrival, they discovered Dwayne Dunn, 27, suffering from gun shot wounds. He was transported to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
This is an active investigation and police urge anyone with information to contact Sgt. Antonio Pino of the Homicide Task Force at 1-908-527-4149.
Additionally, Union County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for the death of Dwayne Dunn. Crime Stoppers may be reached at 1-908-654-TIPS and all calls are kept confidential and anonymous.
