SOUTH AMBOY – Rowan University College of Communication junior EJ Campbell has been named a national finalist for the 2009 National Student Production Awards presented by College Broadcasters.

Campbell, a South Amboy resident, was recognized in the radio sports reporting category for “Rowan Sports Minute.” The segment focused on the death of Philadelphia Phillies Hall of Fame broadcaster Harry Kalas.

National winners in each category will be announced during the 88th annual National College Media Convention in Austin, Texas in October.

According to its website, College Broadcasters, Inc. is an organization for students working in electronic media.  CBI encourages involvement in electronic media, relationships with media organizations, and discussion of topics relevant to their field.
