Middlesex County To Host Online Auction

NEW BRUNSWICK – A 2004 Mercedes Benz, a 1998 Ford Expedition and a 2000 Jeep Wrangler will be on the block during Middlesex County’s annual auction of cars, heavy equipment, jewelry and office and computer supplies.

This year’s online auction starts 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28. The auction is broken into different categories—one for vehicles, one for office and computer equipment, one for jewelry and one for heavy equipment. All bidding will close at 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4.

“We had a great response to our first online auction last year,” said Freeholder Director Stephen J. “Pete” Dalina. “It drew more bidders from a larger geographic area than our traditional auctions attracted. We expect this year to be just as successful.”

Bidders can visit www.govauctionlistservices.com and scroll down to the Middlesex County auctions to view photos and read descriptions of the vehicles and pieces of heavy equipment up for auction.  Descriptions of the office and computer equipment, jewelry, furniture and electronics are online as well.

Bidders must electronically register at the web site before bidding. The process is similar to other online auctions. The highest bidder on each individual item at 8 p.m. on Oct. 4 will be declared the winner of that item. Until then, bidders may increase their bid amounts throughout the seven days of the auction.

County officials strongly encourage all bidders to inspect the items before bidding. Everything is sold as is and all sales are final.

The items are available for in-person inspection from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 28 and 29. The cars and heavy equipment can be viewed at the County’s Central Vehicle Complex on Apple Orchard Lane in North Brunswick.

The office and computer equipment and smaller items can be viewed at Building 216 on the Middlesex City College campus, 2600 Woodbridge Ave. in Edison.

All payments must be made by cash, cashier’s check or money order made payable to Auction Liquidation Services.

Merchandise must be removed between Oct. 5 and 9 with a paid receipt. Operating hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
