CARTERET – Borough seniors, veterans and disabled residents will be receiving a $100 sewer rebate, officials said.
This year’s $100 rebate doubles the $50 rebates that have been distributed over the last three years, according to Mayor Daniel Reiman. The funds come from excess money in the borough’s sewer account.
Applications for the rebate were mailed to eligible residents last month, according to Reiman. Residents who believe they are eligible for the rebate but did not receive the necessary paperwork may pick up the forms at the borough’s finance building at 20 Cooke Avenue or online at www.carteret.net.
Officials expect to refund about $100,000 this year.
