SAYREVILLE—Tom Pollando was selected unanimously by members of the Sayreville Democratic Committee to replace Stanley Drwal on the November ballot for Borough Councilman, Democratic organization chairman John S. Wisniewski announced Tuesday.
“Selecting an appropriate replacement for Stanley was a job the Sayreville Democratic Organization took very seriously. We’re fortunate to have such a talented individual as Tom Pollando to complete our ticket.”
A former Sayreville Borough Councilman who served from 2001-2007, Pollando is currently the vice president of the Communications Division of Adco Electric. He also serves as president of the Sayreville Athletic Association and the Morgan Lions Club, a member of the Sayreville Recreation Board and the Sayreville Economic Redevelopment Agency.
“I am extremely honored to have been selected unanimously by the Sayreville Democratic Organization to run with Dennis Grobelny,” Pollando said. “Having their confidence, and the confidence of our chairman, John Wisniewski, is inspiring. Dennis and I have worked closely together for many years, and I am proud to be his running mate. I am eager to join him on the campaign trail.”
Drwal withdrew from the race earlier this month, citing health concerns.
