SOUTH AMBOY-The graduating class from South Amboy High School of 1933 held their Class Day exercises in the form of a radio program, broadcast over Station SAHS on June 19.

The imitation of the various radio stars and the burlesque on the different headline features. The crowd was filled to capacity.

Some of the imitations that were particularly well done were: “Rudy Vallee” by Robert Buchanan; “Burns and Allen” by George Morgan and Mabel Batchelor; “Walter Winchell” by William Kiegman; the Hill-Billyorchestra, “Tony Wons” by Chester Geant; “Amos ‘N Andy” by WIlson Mundy and Herbert Roxbury; and “Reis and Dunn” by Carl Newmark and Robert Buchanan.

Radio station SAHS broadcasting: Studio announcers, George Morgan and Doary Nau. Advertising announcer, Emerson; Time and weather report, Daniel Weiss; Setting-up exercises, Robert Thorpe; “Boswell Sisters, “ Blanche Neiltopp, Florence Tarbox and Frances Bloodgood. The Hill-Billy orchestra was nine members of the senior class.

“Phil Baker,” Carl Newmark, Robert Welden and Robert Buchanan, Senator’s speech, Joseph Ford and Joseph Hermann. “Will Osborne,” Raymond Dexheimer and “Edna Wallace Hopper” Eva Ellison. The mixed chorus was eight members of the senior class.
“Ozzie Nelson,” Carl Newmark; “Ted Husing,” Sheldon Bowen, “Bert Lahr,” Carl Straub and Robert Thorpe and “Bing Crosby,” Herbert Roxbury.

“Colonel Stoopnagle and Budd,” Ralph Steiner and Joseph Nebus and “Ruth Etting” Olivia Nelson.

The Class Will was by Irvin House and studio party, the entire class. Cooking class Miss Dorothy Inman, class history Reinhold Dexheimer, class prophecy Edna Morris and presentation of mementos Florence Tarbox.

It was one of the best Class Day programs given under Purple and Gold auspices.
