RAHWAY—Sts. Mary/Mark Parish, Rahway, will hold a Sept. 11 Observance on Friday, Sept. 11, with remembrance Masses at 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., at St. Mary’s Church, 232 Central Avenue, according to Fr. Dennis Kaelin, pastor.
Following the morning Mass, the parish bells will be rung at 8:46 am and 9:03 am to commemorate the times the Twin Towers were struck. Parishioners will also be encouraged to attend the Sept. 11 Ceremony, conducted by the City of Rahway at 8:45 a.m. at the Fire Headquarters, Main Street, Kaelin said.
The evening Mass will be followed by a candlelight ceremony, including patriotic songs and a Consecration of the United States. The candlelight ceremony concludes “God Bless America Week”, which the parish celebrated form Sept. 4 through Sept. 11.
