Police Arrest 3 Suspects In Gas Station Robbery

RAHWAY – Police arrested three teens yesterday who are suspects in an Aug. 29 gas station robbery, authorities said.

AlQuan Wells, 18, of Avenel and two Rahway teens, ages 16 and 17, were arrested Sept. 9 and charged with robbery, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, police said. Wells was taken to Union County Jail, where he is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail, cash or bond. The two unnamed teens were taken to the county’s juvenile detention facility.


On Aug. 29, at approximately 10:55 p.m., police responded to a reported robbery at the Lukoil gas station on St. Georges Avenue. The station attendant told the officers that he was robbed by three men, including one with a handgun. The attendant sustained minor injuries but did not require medical attention.

As a result of an investigation by Detective Joseph Holley and officers Shawn Ganley and Kevin Wronski, the three suspects were arrested and charged.
