ROSELLE PARK—The First Annual Rummage & Craft Sale, will take place in the church’s downstairs parish hall at 113 Chiego Place, Roselle Park on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
This will be more than just a rummage sale. The Women of Assumption Ministry are planning this to be an “event” with food, affordable hand crafted jewelry to purchase, live entertainment, and more. They see it not just as a church fundraising function, or an opportunity to get some great bargains, but also as a day where people can come to socialize and enjoy themselves.
The proceeds will help needy parishioners of Assumption send their children to religious education classes, purchase the books and materials, along with giving parish teenagers a way to become active in the parish by setting up a new Youth Ministry.
Leona M Seufert, a parishioner and member of the group, says the response has been unbelievable. “We are getting crystal vases, children’s toys, and even items in their original packaging! Everything is in great condition, and more and more of these ‘treasures’ keep coming each weekend!”
There is still time to drop off items. Every Saturday until Oct. 3 from 4 – 5:30 p.m., the group will be accepting items at the church’s downstairs parish hall. Any questions on whether an item is acceptable, can be answered by calling Diane Burgos at 1-201-522-8022 or Seufert at 1-908-241-5874.
