Police Investigate Gas Station Robbery

LINDEN – Police are investigating another gas station robbery that took place at the BP Amoco station on St. Georges Avenue on Sept. 1 at 8:31 p.m. It is another in a string of robberies that have taken place in recent weeks.

The station attendant told police that two “young and skinny” men entered the station lot. One of the robbers held the attendant against a cooler while the second robber searched his pockets and took $150 cash, police said. One of the robbers had a small, black handgun, according to authorities.

The robbers fled south on Adams Street. Officers detained two suspects in the area, but the attendant could not make a positive identification.

Police believe this robbery was committed by the same people who are responsible for other recent gas station robberies and are stepping up efforts to apprehend them.
