WESTFIELD—United Way of Greater Union County is turning 40 this year and will celebrate by “Painting the Town Red”. This is the third year that Susan Levy-Cantor, a resident of Westfield, will chair the event.
“This year marks a very important milestone for United Way of Greater Union County. Our 40 years of service in developing innovative programs that directly address community needs is something worthy of recognition and celebration. That is why I am honored to be the chair of this event for the third year,“ stated Levy Cantor.
Levy-Cantor is the director of Global New Ventures and Strategic Commercial Development at Schering-Plough Consumer Healthcare. She has been involved with United Way for more than a decade and has served as a board member of United Way of Greater Union County since 2006.
United Way of Greater Union County’s annual celebration brings together United Way supporters and partner organizations to honor the work of noted people and organizations in Union County and in the areas of service to the community. It also serves as a forum to celebrate the accomplishments of the previous year and the kick-off of the 2009 – 2010 campaign.
The event will feature: The 40 Best Desserts of Union County, various food stations, wine and other beverages, and a silent auction. The 2009 celebration will take place on Oct. 3, from 7-10 p.m. It will be held at the Atrium at Connell Corporate Park in Berkeley Heights.
