LINDEN—The Linden Board of Health is currently registering city residents for the annual seasonal influenza immunization program.
While no definite clinic dates have been set, Linden residents should register to receive a flu shot by calling the Board of Health office at 1-908-474-8409. Once registered, you will be notified of the seasonal flu clinic time and date.
Influenza, also know as the flu, is a viral infection, which is spread from person to person. Symptoms of influenza include fever headache, sore throat, body aches and a severe and often prolonged cough.
The seasonal flu shots will be administered earlier this year in preparation for the impending H1N1 swine flu vaccination programs.
Health Officer Nancy Koblis encourages all Linden residents age 60 and older and all Linden residents with chronic illnesses to be vaccinated against seasonal influenza. Linden residents should call the Health Department at 1-908-474-8409 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to register for a flu shot.
Information on the H1N1 swine flu vaccination programs will be forthcoming, officials said.
