CRANFORD—CancerCare of New Jersey has announced its annual 5K run/Walk for Hope, sponsored by Novartis Oncology. The event will be taking place in four locations throughout New Jersey, including Nomahegan Park, Cranford on Saturday, Oct. 3. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m.
Participants will have the choice of a one to five mile route, while enjoying entertainment, activities for the kids, door prizes and refreshments, as well as the satisfaction that comes from working together to make a difference.
The 5K run/Walk for Hope is one of CancerCare’s most important fundraising events. It brings together, family members, friends and the community, for a fun filled day to benefit an extremely important cause. This year, the non-profit organization’s goal is to recruit 1,500 walkers, and raise $200,000 to benefit its completely free services. This is a great opportunity to honor those lost to cancer, celebrate those who are survivors, and give hope to those who are coping with the challenges of the disease.
The walk will take place rain or shine. Participants are required to make a minimum pledge of $25. Prizes will be awarded to top fundraisers and teams. For more information or to register, visit www.cancercare.org/walk or contact Kathy Trethaway at 1-201-301-6813 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
